Shadowboxes

My buddy Erin posted some photos of a shadowbox she had made on her blog "A Fly in My Mint Julep" recently. When I commented on her creation, she mentioned in passing that she would be interested to see what I have done with those things. So here you go E. Let me break them down real quick. If I find little toys and things that I think are cool I'll save them. After a period of time I had a box full of 'cool shit' and shadowboxing them was a cool way to display the objects. That one at top with the cat head contains all sorts of crap. A creepy doll I found by my car at Mardi Gras a few years back, snake I caught at that same parade, the cat head came from one of the VooDoo shops, the knife was my first pocket knife from when I was a kid, the wind-up eye I bought years ago at "The Nature Company", etc., etc. the second one has a VooDoo doll at its center and then just all sorts of random stuff around it. The last one sits on top of our "Skull Shelf." That was a great way to display a lot of the little skulls and toys. So there you have it. Always fun to make those things. I like turning them into little shrines or reliquaries.

What do you use to affix the items in the box?

E6000 Industrial strength glue... or something like Goop would probably serve the purpose as well.

is "reliquaries" our word for the day?
