Easter weekend was pretty uneventful. Half day of work Friday and then I made the looonnngggg, boring drive to New Orleans with my trusty sidekick Zoe and a car so loaded down, it felt like I was driving a tank. Got in about 6ish and unloaded the car and called it a night. Saturday Chris and I got the house whipped into pretty good shape and then started cleaning up the front and back yards. The house has been repainted and remodeled on the inside and out and is in pretty decent shape. The yard was another story. Hasn't been kept up in years probably. Sunday Chris and I walked the dog overt to Audubon Park. About ten blocks from us. Along the way, at the park and coming back, I just took some random iPhone pix. That one with the gigantic live oak, notice how small the cars look next to it. Tree must be 500 years old. I bet 5 adults could join hands and barely reach around it. Probably the largest one I've ever seen. Left headed back East about noon. Will do it all over again next weekend.
PS
Oh yeah. I'm finding it a bit of a culture shock (in a good way I assure you) to be able to walk out of our front door and just one block up to a couple decent restaurants and several neighborhood watering holes and coffee shops. For lunch we walked over to Fresco, had a couple cocktails, some pizza and walked back to the house and went back to work.
