Snakeapillar

Excuse the crappy iPhone shots.

So I was going to roll the trash can out to the curb the other day and sitting on the can lid was a caterpillar that looked like it had a lizard or snakes head. Knew immediately it was defense mimicry.... just wasn't sure what species it was... but thanks to the NET mystery solved ----> www.marietta.edu/~biol/biomes/spicebush.htm

P.S.Anywtime you touched it ar disturbed it it would stick it's "snake tongue" out.

Supercool! I've never seen one of those guys in person. Lucky you!

Kirsten... when I was looking at him he raised up his big, oversized Snakeapillar head and said, "Tell Kirsten I'll catch her next time."

Trudie wants to know if you saved it. I guess as a pet.

Kreg... tell Trudie I placed him gently on the ground so I could take the garbage out. I assume he's out there in the world doing whatever it is Snakeapillars do... which is most likely eating our flowers.
