The Cult / The Black Ryder - 2010 H.O.B.

Caught "The Cult" at H.O.B. Great show... Ian and the guys knocked it out... opening act, "The Black Ryder"  phenominal.  O.K. enough with that. Here's what fucking "almost" ruined it for us. Lame crowd (mostly... peppering of kids and cool people in there). Here's what happens... House of Blues is a cool venue... but you do run the risk, depending on the show, of getting more than a few creeps. Couple that with the fact that the local. "Rawk" station 93.whatthefuckever promoted the show and what you get is an 85% bonehead, dbag, backwards baseball cap, drunken crowd. Way to many people there to hear "Fire Woman". Only song they knew it would seem from the way they were screaming for it. Half of these guys dont know shit about the band beyond "Sonic Temple". And therein lies the problem as far as I could tell. "The Cult" came to recognition, in the states, in the 80s... yes they are guilty of jumping in  on that scene... but they always were more than that... they had a great history. After the 80s they kept moving... they've never stopped. This fact is lost on, if not most people, then most people at that particular show. Oh well. Crowds are a hit or miss thing.
